Midwest Programming

Ah, summer—what a wonderful time! School is out and I am so intensely enjoying the break from the fast-paced action of my studies. I have a lot of news that I’m excited to share in the coming month or two, but for now, I want to share a smaller update.

Another wonderful thing about summer is that it is the time of year in which Midwest programs are being solidified. I’ve shared before that I humbly but confidently believe that my music is fit for the Midwest stage; and I stand by that! But in a field of several hundreds of works to choose from and strict guidelines by which performers must abide for their programming choices, simply saying “please play my music” is far from being helpful for anybody (well, for the most part). So, as a way of trying to make things easier and more accessible for curious directors, I’ve compiled a list of my works for wind ensemble that contains full perusal scores, years of completion, durations, grade levels, links to recordings, and rudimentary notes that describe the pieces in basic terms. My hope is that it will make it easier for you, whoever may be looking through this, to see if I have any works that fit the spaces you have in your program! So, the link to that list is here:

Additionally, for what it’s worth, I am open to commissions! I would be more than happy to compose new music to fit whatever specifications you might need to fill out your program—just get in touch with me and I’m more than happy to discuss details.

To all who are preparing for Midwest performances, 1.) HUGE congratulations on your invitation, and 2.) I wish you the best of luck in your preparation! I hope first and foremost that you will find the perfect program—that perfect combination of high-quality works that are nourishing and enjoyable for you, your performers, and your audience. I also hope that, perhaps, my music can be a part of that perfect program!

Enjoy the music,

Harrison
